Who We Are

Mission 10 is a community of people committed to making a difference in the lives of those around us.  Through the generosity of many, we meet crucial needs of our neighbors when they need help the most.   Everyone who contributes to Mission 10 is part of Mission 10.

Legally, we are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit public charity based in Richmond, VA.

Our Board of Directors is:

Dennis Norwood — Program Director, Co-Founder

Dennis is a Richmond native who is passionate about showing our neighbors the love of Christ, currently serving his church on the missions committee. As a local Realtor, he interacts daily with both new and old members of the community. While developing clientele and friendships, he began hearing of financial needs and struggles of people around him, noting the emotional toll of overwhelming circumstances. Having a heart to help, yet carrying the financial responsibilities of a family of six, the foundation for Mission 10 began to take shape. Could a group of people be put together, each pitching in just a little to instantly lift someone else’s impossible burden? In January 2011 the first call for support was made, and such a group responded, blessing a family beyond measure. Through the prayers and encouragement of many, what started as a call to action in one circumstance has become a movement of people eager to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Greg Huckabee — Director of Finance, Co-Founder

A job opportunity moved Greg and his wife from Orlando to Richmond in 2004, where they are now raising their two sons. With a background in print production and direct marketing, Greg works for a financial services firm in the Richmond area. He is active in his local church, where he serves on the board of deacons. In January 2011 he received a phone call from friend Dennis Norwood, who shared the story of a family in need. Together they made calls and sent messages to raise support. With amazing response from the community the need was met in just over a week, laying the foundation for Mission 10. Greg’s prayer is that those facing a desperate situation find relief when it’s needed the most, and that willing hearts act on the call to help.

Heather Crafton — Administrative Director

Heather Crafton is a Richmond native who’s always had a soft heart for children and those who are hurting. She attended Radford University, where she received a degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has been in an operations role at a Richmond-based company for the last four years and she leads a women’s Bible study at her church. Over her lifetime Heather has watched many loved ones endure financial struggles, wishing she could help. Reading about Mission 10′s first project was very exciting to her because $10 was such a manageable amount. It would not overwhelm her personal finances but would be part of a huge blessing for a family in need. She knew that this concept of a large community supporting one another during difficulties got to the heart of what Jesus called us to when he told us to bear one another’s burdens and love our neighbors. It was faith and love in action and the potential impact was staggering. Soon after the success of the first mission, Heather felt called to participate on a larger scale and joined the board of directors for Mission 10.
